2016- the year of change
Holy cow- I cant believe 2016 is almost over. 4 more days & a new year will hold bittersweet endings & bring new beginnings. A year ago I was adventuring through Brazil with my two best friends & now I sit here in my cozy bed as it snows outside reflecting on how much has happened in these 365 days. I entered 2016 on an adventure & the year only grew more eventful from there...here are some of the highlights...
* I completed my second year of college on the Dean's List for the 4th semester in a row
* I slightly became a "Cat Person" after we rescued my handsome black cat, Onyx.
* I went to New York City for the second time but this time with my best friend! I visited one of my dream modeling agencies, IMG, & it was one of the most surreal moments of my life.
* My modeling career & industry knowledge grew immensely when I ventured to Dubai on a 3 month modeling contract.
* I signed my first lease with four close college friends.
* I started writing my first book
* Went sailing for the first time with my boyfriend & his parents
* I tried meat for the first time in probably 6 years since becoming a vegetarian- it was chicken & camel.
* I got a tattoo!!!
* I saw the Nutcracker Ballet for the first time ever! (other than the Barbie cartoon version)
* Turned 21..THE BIG GOLDEN;)
* I became a full on Yogi
And as I reflect, one of the strangest parts about 2016 is that I spent half of the year away from my bestest friend as she was modeling in China during the summer & I was modeling in Dubai. Luckily, the separation only made our friendship stronger!!
Book of the year : Princess by Jean Sasson
Top 5 song of my year (not listed in order): Carry Your throne by Jon Bellion, Castle by Halsey, This is What You Came For by Calvin Harris, Youth by Toye Sivan, & You Can't Always Get What You Want by Mick Jagger.
As much as I love the idea of new beginnings I don't believe that changing the year on the calendar needs to signify making positive changes in ones life. With that being said I do like I am trying something different, instead of "New years Resolutions" I am going to have my "21 Resolutions"! Stay tuned for 21 goals I have for myself as I enter a new golden age.
xoxo,
Keagan
