Sweet Home Alabama

So- I can finally update spring break now that I have access to my computer- Holy crapola, what an eventful week it was.

Thursday- March 9th- Demi & I left LaCrosse to go Reedsburg- we loaded up all on the camping gear in the back of the Volvo

Friday- March 10th- Woke up at 4:00am to drive. Based on the excessive coffee intake we had to make multiple stops for my small bladder...and we stopped at a random cute little neighborhood in St.Louis to walk around & get some fresh air.

That night we stopped in Tupelo, Mississippi & planned on spending the night in the Motel Volvo (aka, sleeping in the Wal-Mart parking lot). As we were getting situated for the night, I googled the Tupelo Walmart- there had been a shooting at this Wal-Mart about a month prior & the gentleman who was involved in the shooting was arrested only one day prior to our arrival. We decided to drive to a safer town to spend the night (Armory MS). We rearranged the camping gear & jammed our long legs as best as we could into the back of the Volvo.

Saturday- March 11th- We woke up early and continued driving and arrived at Chickabogue Campsite mid day- the park rangers had cut our fire wood for us & were extremely helpful & friendly. They gave us maps of Mobile and made sure that we had everything we needed. After a nice long hike we pitched the tent, set up camp, & settled in.

Sunday- March 12th- We went to a cute local coffee shop called Carpe Diem that was in a renovated victorian home! We did some homework and then went site seeing in Mobile Alabama. We walked by the water, got some Bloody Mary's that were wayyyyy too expensive, explored the beautiful Spanish parks, & admired all of the street art!

We drove back to the campsite & realized we needed lighter fluid because the majority of our firewood was wet! we left our phones charging at the campsite & drove to Wal-Mart...STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT POST...the adventure takes a turn...
